our story

hey y'all, we are leslie and bruce schlernitzauer, owners of porcupine provisions catering in charlotte, north carolina. and this is our daughter megan, who takes care of all things social media, website, graphic design, and many of our deliveries for both gathered and porcupine.

gathered was our “pandemic pivot" as we like to call it. while we have continued to pivot since 2020 to best serve you, our mission has remained the same: bring you thoughtfully curated, food focused gift boxes and comfort meals while supporting our friends, small local businesses, and charlotte area non-profits along the way. we believe that now more than ever, our small local businesses and community need our support. all items from our online collection include as many local lovelies as we can gather from our local farmers and producers with some added touches such as house made relishes, and a board for your cheese. 

most importantly, we whole heartedly believe that our charlotte community always needs our help and love to cook for a cause whenever we can. with that in mind, every couple of months we choose a different non-profit in the charlotte area to donate meals or pantry staples to families in need. a portion of all sales each month goes towards these provisions. we are so very grateful for the opportunity to bring you some of the best that our local purveyors have to offer. with every order, not only are you supporting us, but many other local businesses along the way. thank you!
